*Make sure you put an Apple tag or another geo location tracker with your stuff so you know where it is. They will not tell you with any accuracy or honesty. And only the dispatch manager knows what’s going on so make sure you ask for them if you want to know where your stuff is. I had no problems ordering for a cross country move with them. They even dropped off the container and provided good communications until after they picked it up. The problem was once they had my container and were supposed to transport it. They waited 19 days from the time they picked it up to begin to ship it. Which is one day from the time they were supposed to deliver it. I had been calling asking why it had not moved (5 times) prior to it shipping. Each time they said it’s on schedule and not to worry even though no one checked on it. 7days before it shipped, I calculated it was impossible for my container to arrive on time (11hrs driving limit per day which is approximately 600-650 miles and a day for transfer to local service for delivery). I called and they agreed and revised the date by adding an additional 8 days to the delivery time. 8 days later and it’s still not here. I call but there’s no urgency in their response. They keep telling me they’re sorry but it happens. It’s the busy season. The truck broke down (really). The carrier never got scheduled. Hard to believe. The family is suffering and stressed out. No idea how much longer it’ll take them to deliver.

In the Triangle area of NC. Ordered online, but then called to verify. Talked with Caleb. He was amazing. Treated me like a real VIP. I had messed up my order and ordered more than I needed. He helped me with the right size container, which ended up being the PERFECT size. Dropped off at the exact time they said, then picked it up when it was full. Stored it for two months, then had it delivered over the weekend. Emptied it out and they picked up the container this morning. Everything was smooth from start to finish. No complaints at all.

Updated now that I've received my container at its destination: Should've listened to the reviews. I had a container sitting on my driveway for 3 days past when it was scheduled to get picked up, with no contact from either this warehouse or Zippy Shell support. When I called support myself, they were unable to reach this warehouse both through their "urgent task" requests and even through a direct phone line. How can a company not be able to reach itself?! Tried emailing the agent who scheduled my move and it's getting auto-rejected. I have no confidence this company can get my belongings transported 1000+ miles if they can't even get them off my driveway. The only saving grace was the courtesy of the Zippy Shell/1800 Pack Rat customer support reps. Even though they couldn't always get a hold of the warehouse, they did what they could to expedite things, so my stuff ended up arriving to my new home only 3 days late, even with the delay getting off my driveway and a truck breakdown on the way to Denver. The scary part was that had I not called them so many times that they assigned a manager to look at my case and expedite delivery from the Denver warehouse to my new place, the estimated delivery date for my container would have been ***a whole 2 weeks later*** (apparently the warehouse is "extremely busy", as if that's not something they should know in advance)! PODS quoted me the same later date for only $300 more but at least they were honest about it, while Zippy Shell blindly quoted me 8-10 business days for the whole move without checking on the warehouse status on either end (I presume). In summary, Zippy Shell/1-800 Pack Rat is a fundamentally broken system where the parts can't or won't talk to one another effectively. I would have been more okay with the delays had they been communicated to me in a proactive manner, but this experience has left a sour taste in my mouth.

Both 1800 Pack Rat and Zippy Shell (sister companies) provided terrible service. After my items were damaged due to the movers negligence they have yet to provide me with reimbursement / solution for the claims that I filed in Oct and Nov of 2021. Not to mention that I purchased from them a protection to cover 10k worth of damages during the move. They have not been responsive to my emails after I have called them to account on exceed their 90 days of investigation process except to say that I should hear back soon - the response that I have been receiving for almost a month now. When I finally spoke to someone over the phone from their claims department they stated that the reason as to why they are taking so long is because they are getting in touch with the local movers they hired to see if my claims are true. EVEN THOUGH I called them as the damages took place and took pictures of everything that was damaged by them as they loaded my items into the truck and then once the delivery arrived with crushed boxes and items. They still feel the need to confirm with the juvenile children that they subcontracted for my move if my claims are true. They are dismissing the fact that it was those very ill-trained children who nonchalantly mentioned to me the damages they caused on a 50 year old piece of furniture that was very much in mint condition prior to this damage. I have documented all of this with email correspondence and pictures and yet they still think that I am possibly fabricating all of this. I will report them to governing federal agencies regardless of the claims solution so that they can be investigated and hopefully their reputation continues to decline. To clarify further, the Pack Rat team provided me a resolution date BECUASE I CALLED THEM TO FOLLOW UP AND INSISTED THAT THEY PROVIDE ME WITH A QUANTIFIABLE TIMELINE AS THEY HAVE EXCEED THE 90 DAYS PROCESS AND HAVE ONLY PROVIDED ME WITH A VAGUE TIMELINE. Since they were NOT responding to my emails of when I requested that they give me actual dates. So Pack Rat, do not post this response as if you have been responding and providing me updates. How DARE you make it seems as though you have been communicative and responsive?!

Pack Rat customer service is great and I’ve been able to get my containers in a sooner times frame than some of its competitors. However, when they came to pick up 4 of my 12 containers they picked up one of the wrong ones and almost another until my assistant caught it. They took a POD and not a Packrat and it had important merchandise inside. Considering that I gave them the numbers of the containers to pick up it makes no sense how this error was made. I would wait another few days to work with a company that can handle this process more competently

These guys are the BOMB! From start to finish, everyone, and I mean EVERYONE, was on point and worked seamlessly together. From initial call, to delivery, pick up, delivery to new house, to pick up of the PODS was smooth. Call backs were almost immediate. They have everyone beat on price and the drivers were so friendly and took the time to chat with me and answer all my questions. They took care of all the requests I had for where to put the PODS, which doors facing where, where to put each POD, with no mistakes. Highly recommend!

These guys charge additional 200 to 300 dollars what they mention on the sales call - Like a fraud.. so use Pods they are transparent of charges upfront

Worst customer service!! They assure you that when they take your credit card to reserve you can still cancel at any time. So wrong! You get straight through tto someone to make a reservation....but get sent into a never ending hold loop and eventually get disconnected to cancel. We had to cancel our credit card!

Horrible experience. Hidden fees were added to the initial quote greatly increasing the price. Driver was unprofessional, arrived before the place of business was open, stated I was on his time my schedule didn't matter. Do not recommend.

We used 1-800-Pack-Rat for a long distance move and to store our furnishings for a couple of months. When we received one of the units at our new home, we found the unit had been damaged along the way leaving cracked caulking and mold all over the unit. The mold was on our personal belongings and water damage ruined several pieces of furniture and our mattress. We immediately called the company and were sent claim forms to return within 30 days, which we did along with receipts and photos of everything. We showed the manager who came to remove the unit from our property and he told us not to worry because his company would take care of it. 6 months later the company offered us just over $800 to remedy almost $5K in damaged property and furnishings! The worst part, aside from waiting almost 6 months for a slap in the face, is that the company refused to share the estimate which is the basis for their offer, along with the so-called reports they had on the unit. Contact me if you would like to read the entire email communication chain with their claims office which shows how this company treated us. In my opinion, this company does not stand behind its advertising or its promises. Zoom in on the photo to see all the mold and damage on the ceiling of the unit, probably from them stacking them at their warehouse. They deny that this damage took place.
