There is a young lady that works here named Hannah Holland. I've never met her but she was the one that took my phone call for a load I had brokered through you all recently. She was an absolute joy to deal with on the phone. I have no clue what her pay is but it is not enough. She needs a raise immediately. She was patient and kind and went out of her way to help me. If I wasn't already married, I would ask her to marry me. She has A+ customer service skills that are sorely lacking in the corporate world these days. She is a rare breed indeed. It's been a few years since I've worked for AVERITT. But orientation at Cookeville was pretty good. Coworkers are real friendly and helpful. Management has a good attitude. The company is a large company, so the job comes with regimented order of operations. They have a system that works well for them, it's not wrong or right. But you most play by their rules.

This is the best company that I have worked for in the 27yrs of working as a truck driver. I really take pride in wearing the red and grey. Great pay, 401k, insurance, and wonderful equipment to drive what more can you ask for.

Great home time. That’s all. Recruiters are not honest, if you like running north east PA, MD, NJ, VA, WV ect go for it. Forced dispatch, once in truck you are owned by Averitt and have absolutely no say so. You will be put on loads through out the week 2/3 loads before you can deliver the load you are on. Planners are money hunters, astronomical amount of live loads and live unloads, last week before I resigned I sat for a total of 35 hours waiting to get unloaded and one waiting to get loaded. Favoritism is a huge thing over there, the CEO seems nice he sent me a few gifts in the mail. You will never meet your fleet managers, ever, they will call you on off days to have you do local runs for them, don’t answer. I really had my hopes up with this company and was severely disappointed, was there 90 days in a old Volvo, 500,000 miles on it, pre pass didn’t work and the truck was completely dirty, and company badge didn’t work until the end. Go for a small company if you are new, also benefits will kick in 90 days into working the most dangerous job in America. Started my new company today and the benefits started the same day BCBS. The SC is awesome, cooksville is the issue. They put on a great show to get you in the door, very very nice uniforms but why wear it while you hate your job? I had to leave an honest review, please message me if you need proof of how long I sat and the amount of live loads and live unloads, I will gladly show you my QC! God bless and on to the next!

Orientation was a big joke. They promise all of this rainbow and sunshine and good pay. Completely false. Someone who works with the checks said the lowest check he wrote was 1100$ for over the road. For someone who gets paid 600-700 a week 95% of the year I couldn't believe the lies spewing out of their mouths. For the work you do over the road they pay Completely unfair and it is almost impossible to move up in this company. A manager told us that they let outside people get first dibs on local positions then if the position isn't filled they let everyone who works there get a chance. That is a horrible company who doesn't take care of their own workers. DONT WORK FOR THIS COMPANY.

To my fellow truck drivers don't work here they will tell you you have orientation a certain date then after a background check if there is something they didn't like they will disqualify you after asking for an explanation.

I am an employee here and enjoy my job. The atmosphere is friendly, the benefits are amazing, and you have lots of opportunity to move up. Would highly recommend applying here if you are looking for a good job. Also, we try to give the best customer and driver service that we possibly can, and sometimes go above and beyond to ensure our drivers and customers are happy.

The most important thing is making sure the driver deliver the load and they don’t even ask you about how much time you have to deliver the load. Very hard to move up and change jobs in this company. The pay is very hard to live on and the city and shuttle drivers make more money than the over the road drivers. The equipment is not the best starting out with this company.
