This is one of the nicest and cleanest rest areas in N.C. The landscaping and grounds are immaculate. Refreshing place to just stop for awhile and take in the scenery and relax.

Peaceful, tranquil, beautiful place to see. You enter by crossing a lovely crystal clear stream via a wooden walkway, the bathrooms were new, clean, and safe. Just beyond the bathrooms is a trout stream that too is beautiful. We just stopped to use the restrooms, but stayed awhile to enjoy the serenity.

You look for places because you gotta go. But in this case, you gotta go here because it is maybe the nicest roadside rest stop I have ever seen. Some architect and landscaper did a creative and top notch job on this modest building! You probably have to hurry in, but on the way out take your time to stroll and see the decks and walkways and landscaping and stream. It puts the "rest" in "rest stop".

This is a very well maintained rest area. There is a nice little stream with a creek that runs into it, and the rest area is wedged between them. There are great benches and areas to hang out, walk around, and use the facilities. Definitely one of the more impressive rest stops I've ever seen in my life.

This is the best rest area that I have ever been to. It's perfect after a long road trip or even just a sight-seeing trip. Very well kept, and lots of signs detailing the Trail of Tears. I would highly recommend this rest area to everyone. Especially if you love little streams and creeks. Plus a huge picnic area/walkway.
