Very sketchy part of town, family was scared walking from car to lobby and didn't feel any safer once inside, rooms are very run down, and walls so thin you can heat people talking next door and in the halls. People at the front desk were super nice but that didn't override actual fear of being in this part of town. Would not recommend.

Don't be a lame. It had a great ice machine. Strong water pressure. I didn't have to ask for a fridge or a microwave. COLD ac is a huge plus in my book. Right next to the airport. Not the greatest beds but I slept. It's a little dingy but it's definitely not the worst I've ever stayed in.

Rooms were decent. Every staff member I spoke to was friendly. My only problem was that there was no place really close to eat. Luckily the motel store had a few reasonable item's. I got a microwave cheeseburger and some chips for $5 which is not bad considering the airport next to it was charging $14 for a burger.. and if you aren't mobile it's pretty much the only option. If you have a way to drive a few miles you won't have that issue.

Great hotel for a short stay located very close to Newark airport. It's in an industrial area but seems safe. rooms had coffee and shower products and small but decent TV. Refrigerator and microwave are a bonus. There are luggage carts for guest use which is vital if you have heavy bags. No problems at all.

DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL!! DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL!! Rooms are very dirty and smell like smoke and not to mention very musty! behind the beds were filthy. Black stuff would come out of the AC when turned on. Floor to bed NASTY. Sketchy area, homeless roaming the hotel and around. Drug deals. NO SMOKE (fire alarms) DETECTORS. The people at the front desk are very ignorant. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND GO SOMEWHERE ELSE.

The biggest and only plus of the hotel is it's free 24 hour shuttle to and from airport. Otherwise, I found the hotel alright. The person at reception wasn't ready to give me any answer in more than 1 word. The rooms were old, but basic, functional and acceptable, as long as it's just a matter of a night. Overall, I just had a general weird feeling there. If I could go back in time, I would spend a few extra dollars on another hotel.

Room was clean. Hallways were dirty. Elevator 2 sounded like it was about to break down. Parking lot was filthy. People smoking marijuana all over. Customer service was rude. Charged more then quoted in reservation. Both shuttles were broke down. Would recommend any other hotel

Clean environment, clean rooms, professional receptionists. I’ve been staying here the past few days and my favorite room is 304. All the rooms are very comfy, tidy, and neat. They have cables and lots of movies playing. Definitely recommended.

Staff was nice. Rooms, Lobby, etc were all clean. Only things I didn't like were that the parking lot was really dark and there were some kinda shady people hanging around outside which made my wife nervous, (but that's not the hotels fault). Howard Johnson's are usually all pretty nice and reasonably priced.

This is a hidden gem! The property is very close to the airport and also very affordable. From the outside it does look a little older. However, the inside and the rooms are absolutely pristine and newly renovated. The experiences that of checking into a holiday inn hotel. This is the old hojo experience of many years ago, but it really is a wonderful place to stay and will not break the bank

We stayed here yesterday, the staff was fine, although we only spoke with the receptionist. The room was very cold when we arrived, it did have a unit in there to do yourself. But would have assumed it to be warm upon arrival, during the cold season. The shower was small and lacked elbow room, and leaked water when not turned on. Also water stayed at feet prior to draining slowly. Towels were a little harsh on skin as they were really DRY! The bed was so short, that my feet hung off the bed, and the blankets were thin. I would not recommend for a longer stay.

The Howard Johnson was nice. Very comfortable and clean. However, there was no continental breakfast. The waiter at restaurant inside appeared very irritated when the breakfast crowd came in. He seem very impatient and didnt like questions asked. I asked for caffeine free tea. He said NO immediately. Then I notice there was tea i wanted. I would recommend based on comfort and good sleeping. Breakfast on the other hand...at your own risk

Very nice and clean hotel located in the vicinity of the Liberty airport. Hotel has restaurant with variety good reasonable priced food. The shuttle runs smoothly between the hotel and airport with no charge.
