Hunter Hill Safety Rest Area

Apparently it is the homeless place to sleep/live! There are no vending machines. Over half to all of parking is people that live there in their cars! Which makes the regular traveler stopping in to use facility or catch sleep hard to do! There is some lady that screams for her cats to come eat in the late evening, people play music loudly, even watched a drug deal go down with one of the cars that is there every time I stop in on my way through for work. One persons vehicle sits in the same handi cap spot. That should definitely be used for actual travelers to ba able to use! Slowly over last few months has started looking worse with peoples belongings sitting under and around their vehicles. Would be nice if there was actually a designated dog area like most rest areas across US Perks has a great view, and great picnic area! And restrooms are always clean! Or fairly clean! Smells like urine if you have to park along the far side curb Either the state needs to build a designated parking area that can be for the homeless to park and live so that others can have a place to park and use facilities close or closer to the actual facilities! Is only 4 miles from Six Flags!

Love this rest stop.. it's always packed tho. Think they need to get more parking.

We've been stopping here for a few years when driving between Sacramento and San Francisco. There are a lot of people stopping here always, it's a very convenient rest area and toilet stop. Great views. Lots of people working here and it's kept super clean. Unfortunately it is a very bad example of our tax money at work. Bathroom is falling apart literally. Couldn't find soap and half of the stalls are out of order and have been like this for years! What is going on?

I liked the fact that after driving most of the night I was able to pull in and get sleep. The bathrooms are kept clean and they have beautiful views. There is a good place to sit at picnic tables to eat if you want and nobody bothered anyone else. It a peaceful place and good for taking a break from the road

I frequently stop here for a much needed nap on my way home. I haven't ever had a problem, nor been harassed in any way here. It also has an amazing view.

Awesome sauce! Clean and well maintained rest area! If you feel the need, the need for peed... this is the place to be! 🤣🤣🤣

Nice view.Just be sure to lock car doors very well.Not only travelers rest right there..some people that are expecting you to sleep to get into your car and grab valuable items are there too.Nice but be careful.

Lovely place to take a moment rest. Restrooms were very adequate. The view of the valley was exceptional

Good place to take a break from driving for hours. They have some vending machines and a pretty good view. Decent amount of parking, never had a hard time finding a spot. Bathrooms and all that good stuff included!
