I am from Oklahoma and when I travel up north I am amazed at the rest stops. They all are very clean inside and out. They have parks, picnic tables, dog area, small tails plus lots of parking not just for cars but also big trucks which is very important for professional drivers. The one thing I think is very important is they have them all over so you are bound to pass one. This makes everyone safer on the road not just for big trucks but other cars. Having pro driver parking on side of ramps etc can be potentially dangerous so this state rest area solutions… more parking for drivers!
If traveling up north or even Texas have great rest areas just like this location. Way to go all the pro drivers appreciate it.

newly renovated. only bad thing to say is about the semi truck parking lot. all parking spot lean to the drivers side. so if you sleep with your head on the drivers side of your semi. your feet will be above your heart.

Fantastic clean new modern facility with multiple bathrooms. Beautiful landscape work done here showing off a lot of native plants and trees.
It was a refreshing break from the road and wonderful place to stretch and talk a short walk.

I stopped here years ago and it was a really nice place then. However, it's overgrown now. You have to walk through talk grass to get to anything. The walking trail is partly closed off and dilapidated. There is a picnic table on the trail that has just fallen over and they just left it laying. I was very disappointed compared to what it used to be. That being said, the truck parking area is large, they do have a nice dog play area and the interior is nice and clean. Final thoughts... Maintenance, please clean the place up to it's former glory. It really is a very nice rest area when it's not left to fend for it's self.
