We always stop on the way home. This time I was surprised that it wasn't as clean as all the other times we have stopped. They were out of paper towels and toilet paper.

We stopped here on our way back from Corpus christi, the restrooms were clean. And we decided to have lunch at one of the covered picnic area.

Facility was clean, has plenty of parking for autos and semi's the outside has a beautiful landscape and a nice scenery past the highway. My family and I were able to take pictures and they looked as if we were in a garden. This place is pet friendly but no doggie bags. There was a total of 4 restrooms 2 for men and 2 for women with 3 stalls each in the women's restroom. Overall great stop.

Texas does it's travelers a great service with this rest stop. Easy off on easy on. Always clean with a full time attendent. My compliments to TsDOT.

Dan & Kay Davis for Live Oak County Rest Area
Someone pulled in after midnight and had their brights shining in our window. My husband tried to ask if they could turn them off, but they ignored him so we just moved to a different spot. A couple of hours later we hear them talking to the maintenance man about how they thought it was funny and using curse words to describe us and the maintenance man seemed to think it was funny.

They have doors on the men's room stalls, so fancy. Clean and well lit, with security cameras.
