Rum River Rest Area
Clean building and bathrooms, with a caretaker on site who cleans the bathrooms regularly. Water fountains inside and out, a vending machine for drinks, walking path out back that takes you to the river, children's play area, a small covered pavilion with picnic tables, a large area for parking trucks and lots of room for car parking.

Visited approx 8/11/22. Bought a pop there, (Lil spendy but it was needed!) But! there's no snack machine, and that would have been REALLY HELPFUL, because I was tired. Ladies Bathroom was clean. No pictures this time.

I have stopped here several times throughout the recent years as it is on the route to my vacation spot on Mille Lacs. Every time, this area has been clean and brightly lit inside. Someone there obviously takes pride in their job!

We just stopped to use the restrooms places fairly busy but they were clean you can't predict how many people will be there at the time wish there was a couple more stalls

I stopped at this rest area (again) on 12/29/20 at the beginning of a snow storm. The gentleman who works there is amazing! The building is always so neat and clean. Miigwech for helping a weary traveler!

Rum River Rest Area
Stopped in at this rest area started walking in then a State Trooper pulled up and started harassing my new wife and I on our way to Grand Casino Mille Lacs. Next thing I know he is searching my car top to bottom trying to accuse us of wrong doing. I was driving a brand new 2020 Highlander very sober and doing nothing wrong. Be Careful if you stop in here.
