Super 8 by Wyndham Joplin

Horrible customer service from the night shift. We called about 10pm and talked to a very friendly young lady who assured us that us cutting our drive short and ending up in Joplin at 5am would be no problem at all. Finally called about 4am when our other party got there ahead of us and the extremely rude lady at the desk told us there were no available rooms. When we were told at 10pm there were plenty of rooms. Then it turned into an excuse of the system won’t let me reserve any rooms. And then she started talking to us like we should know how all this works when we called and we’re told that we were good to go. We were okay with paying for two nights if that’s what was needed but the First Lady assured us that wouldn’t be necessary. Then when we arrived we were told not only would we not be welcome to stay past 11 on thursday when the First Lady told me our checkout would be 11 on Friday (we didn’t need that long) but after a 15 hour drive that was only half our trip, we were told we couldn’t be there for more than 6 hours? Whoever the old lady was that was working the night/morning of Wednesday/Thursday July 28th needs to go if you expect any repeat or happy guests. If you hate your job that much then don’t apply to be in this field. Absolutely disgusting behavior.

Need I say more- toilet seat broke and I wouldn’t dare take a bath in that tub. Please stay at your own risk. The gentleman at the front desk was so polite and refunded my card immediately. Thanks dude.

I had a reservation with my husband only to find out that if your local you aren't welcome. I'm not sure why this would even matter.. but God forbid that a couple just wants some peace and quiet from their every day lives. I do know this the next time I'm traveling and come across anything owned by this company I won't be staying Also the receptionist was incredibly rude and hung up on my husband twice.

The floors were dirty and sticky, there wasn't a chair or tables (other than nightstands) in our room like pictured and there were roaches crawling in the bathroom. The smell of lemon was overwhelming in the hallways. The only nice thing was the bed was comfortable.

The room I initially purchased was a king room and the door wouldn’t open at all. So the front desk changed my room. It’s late at night so whatever. Then I get into my room and the floor is sticky and dusty at the same time. There’s sticky stuff all over the phone in the room and a cockroach in the toilet. The OWNERS need to get better housekeeping staff. Giving 2 stars because the front desk ladies were so nice and kind

I took my wife here for a weekend getaway and we absolutely loved the room. It was clean and the begging was clean. Really nice room for the price. Will be coming back soon!

The room was infested with ants. I had no food in the room and yet I ended up with ants in my luggage. The Continental Breakfast had a list of items at the front desk when I checked in. While the list was fairly standard, I expected the items to be available. I went to get food at 7am, only half of what was on the list was available.

Great prices but spend the extra money on a better place. There was a hole cut into my mattress which made it very hard to sleep. There were stains on the curtain, bedding, and lamp. Random people kept trying to put their card in our door to get into our room at 4am. Lastly you can hear EVERYTHING and I do mean everything. The staff was friendly though.

Very dirty. Moldy smell. Stains on the floors, bedding and chair. Red liquid on the wall. Lots of hair between the mattress and wall. Lots of dirt and what looks like pieces of food behind the night stand. Toilet won't flush by the handle. One must open the tank and pull the chain. I don't even feel comfortable enough to take my shoes off. We booked online so it's nonrefundable. I will not stay here again nor would I recommend staying here.

We were skeptical of this place because it's extremely dirty and there were bad stains on all the floors, we were just passing through and needed a night to sleep. We put all our luggage in the room and left for a while to go get dinner. The room was dirty, there was hair on the bathroom vanity and the whole hotel smells funny. We were discussing over dinner that this place is not the quality we're used to. I'm an exterminator and my wife asked me to check the room for bedbugs when we got back for dinner. Good thing I did! There were bedbugs on both beds and they were crawling on the baseboards and I found one on the curtain. I took a video of everything (I'll post the video or a screenshot if I can figure it out). I went and spoke with the wonderful, helpful attendant and she provided me with a refund. However I'm an exterminator and know that bed bugs are hitchhikers and get in your luggage and clothing. Since I'll have to treat all my luggage and clothing for bed bugs before I take anything into my home, I asked Super 8 to pay for my room at another hotel. The attendant at the desk called her manager Ken and he declined to compensate for a room at another hotel, at the very least to calm us down from this experience; I mean we're traveling with a 5 year old. The attendant did call around and helped us find another hotel to stay in, she was as helpful as she could be; I forgot her name. Bedbugs can travel from room to room, I would recommend staying clear from this hotel, the room we stayed in was 104.
