This is a very nice rest stop. Very well cared for, clean. I first stopped here back in 1977. At that time it was just a parking area and you could actually get up on the rock and check out the names and dates.
It is still interesting. I suggest that if you're going on by stop. You will remember it and reflect on the past and the hardships that the people went through.

Honestly, one of the best rest stops I've ever been to. The cleanest bathrooms that were well stocked. A Great hiking trail, with facilities that worked. Water stations to fill up our tanks and even a dump station. The only area that wasn't excellent was a dog run that did need a little help.
Overall, the caretakers are doing a great job, and hopefully other pet owners will do a better job of cleanup after their pets.

Very easy to get in and out of. Dump and fill station for RVs. Nice and clean bathrooms. Excellent covered picnic areas. A little hiking trail as well.

Easy to park, we rolled in about 11:30 pm, two RV areas, looked like space for 6-8 RVs in each with overflow in Big Rig area as a possibility. Looks like awesome walking trails as well.

Nice and clean stop for anyone, especially if you're in an RV. Has a dumping station and fresh water. We were welcomed by a friendly attendant that was cleaning as we arrived. There's a nice trail in the back if you'd like to go stretch out and walk to the Independence Rock, which unfortunately we couldn't do because of how windy it was at the time.

Pretty cool that the pioneers rest stop is also a modern rest stop. I like that it is informative, free, and the history is kept safe, but you also are free to roam on the rock.

Awesome paved walking trail to stretch your legs and lots of interesting facts to read about along the way. Didn't used the facilities but I can confirm the outside areas are very well maintained. Loved it!

Great stopping place to get out and stretch. Bathrooms were very clean. Plenty of parking and if you were really ambitious you could climb up Independence Rock. Great Oregon Trail landmark.
