When you sign up for a insurance policy they will ask you the value of your truck which is supposed to be what your covered for they say if there is ever a total loss. Naturally when pulling trailers you have extra cost setting your truck up to haul with hitches, fuel tanks, delete kits to help with idling hours etc. As most you will give a amount because you have all that extra money you spent, the more the amount the more they will charge you and the more coverage you are supposed to have. When or if there is a total loss, they will then tell you it is out of their hands and the amount is up to the adjuster. So what I understand, if you pay for cheaper coverage or more expensive coverage it is the exact same coverage. The hook line and sinker deal is when you spend several years paying for the more expensive coverage and feeling all comfy inside that you went that extra mile and spent that extra dollar for extra coverage to help cover the cost of your truck when actually the whole time you could of been paying for much cheaper coverage because in all reality the coverage is the same. If something happens and your truck is a total loss like mine, you will then be told that the coverages are the same, and the extra amount you paid for extra coverage is basically useless as the decision is based on either the cash value of the truck or insured amount whichever is cheaper to them. They tell you they base this decision on what trucks are going for in your area, so the extra money you paid for extra insurance to cover all those goodies you put on your truck, well that money is wasted because the whole time you could of been paying less for the same coverage. Make sense to you? Not me either. But it does put more money in their pocket. I have recommended this company to several people, but no longer.
