Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Joplin

First off web said pool, pool has been down for several months according to check in attendant. Second no coffee machines or microwave in room, also mentioned on web. Third the breakfast isn't even worth mentioning. I chose this place because of the pool, then found out it wasn't working since before I reserved our room. Very disappointing and wouldn't recommend this place. Two stars are because of the staff being nice.

If I could give zero stars I would. Was there all of 5 minutes. Dead cockroach in the bathroom. Blood and pee stains under the sheets. Was told I would get a refund in 4-5 days. I will contact BBB if that doesn’t happen!

THIS HOTEL HAS COCKROACHES!! We found several cockroaches during our stay. When we called the front desk to request a new room the front desk attendant told me that it's because it's so hot outside we were going to see them, never offered to move us. I later spoke to the "manager" who told me that it was normal to see a couple cockroaches. He stated the hotel was not airtight. He then also said he was there till 11p.m. the night before and we should have contaced him to move us. I showed him pictures and a video that were timestamped for 1:30A.M and later. He was rude and completely unhelpful. He just argued that it was normal and it was my fault for not being able to forsee the future to know there would be cockroaches so I could contact him before he left at 11pm. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS LITERAL "ROACH MOTEL" TO ANYONE. The rooms are very small for two people. They were semi clean. The location is great in reference to the city's stores and restaurants, but it's located on the very south outskirts of Joplin and kinda of secluded. Plenty of parking. No pool or fitness so alot of downtime if your here through the day. The breakfast is insulting. 2 cereals warm orange juice. Muffins and bagels. Both of which were dry enough to absorb the Atlantic. And at 10:30 a.m. they start harassing you to confirm your leaving. Starting at 10:27 am housekeeping knocked 2x then at 10:43 the front desk called to ask if we were checking out. The children running the front desk were rude when asked about the managers eta. Way overpriced.

We were meeting my mom at the hotel on Saturday (she and her significant other had a room booked for the night). We arrived before her and needed to use the restroom from traveling, while I was in the restroom the guy at the front asked my husband if he needed to check in. My husband told him we were meeting my mom there shortly and that she had a room booked. The guy told my husband we needed to call someone to pick us up and leave. We will never stay at a Microtel again based on this treatment and will probably avoid Wyndham brands as a whole as well. When my mom arrived to check in he seemed confused and it took him a while to issue her keys. Also the pool was broken/closed and the whole area around the hotel had a "dead animal" smell

You guys keep apologizing about the rooms the smell the service but looking at the reviews for months the same thing is being said over and over you do not take care of your rooms or your customers stop letting people smoke in the rooms!!!!! Hire better cleaners and if you say there is a hot breakfast serve a hot breakfast. Me my family or friends will never come back here your loss your hotel is nasty.

Smells horrible. Not very clean. And they lie about upgrading. Told me $20 extra for 2 beds and then charged me $140. Owner is extremely rude. Will never go back!

It's okay...and for the price it's very reasonable. Pro: clean, good price, safe, no bedbugs. Cons: a bit worn, terrible coffee.

Good place for overnight stay. Be aware not a fridge or microwave in the rooms ... But in their pictures some rooms have one. Clean rooms and kind staff. Breakfast is just continental.

Owner was upset because we booked online The room hadn't been used for a long time spider and webs in sink ,sheets were clean but badly stained,so we used our own bedding as so was the furniture . We are not hard people to please just expected things to be clean the tub was even stain and dirty looking. We will not use this hotel chain again

Nice friendly staff never had to wait on them at the front desk even in the middle of the night. clean rooms and lobby. One staff member even went out of his way to find us a mini fridge as we didnt think to see if our room had one. We were going to be there 6 days so we bought some food items most needed a fridge. He made sure we got one...Thank You
