Rest Area Athens

Clean well maintained and clean both inside the out.

Clean and well kept, but the signs to tell you it's up ahead are either none existence or covered.

Although it seemed staffed it was not very tidy and smelled odd. Only one of the many, many pop vending machines actually worked.

The rest stop area was clean and well lighted. Facilities were also clean and well maintained.

Clean rest area....very quiet, was able to get a good cat nap in.. most people I saw were wearing mask Bathrooms were not busy and very clean.

The facilities here are clean. These days we don't travel far from home, and when we do we try not to use public restrooms but of course we have to at times. We were on our way back from visiting my parents on Father's day and didn't see many people here with masks, so I was really nervous going into the women's restroom. I will say that I was the only one in the restroom and then I heard someone else come in and to my delight, when they got out to wash their hands they had a mask on too! It is helpful to see clean rest areas during this time when so many are not being careful. Thank you

This is a very nice little rest area. It's clean and very well maintained. The restrooms were very clean as well. Wide selection of snacks in the vending machines. It had several covered picnic tables and nice little walk area to stretch your legs as well as those of your fur babies. Plus at night, it's very well lit so I felt very safe here.

This is the Interstate 75 Southbound Rest Area in Athens, TN (McMinn County). It is located at mile marker 45. This is the last rest area before getting into the Chattanooga area. Our stop here was on August 3, 2018. This is a nice rest area to stop at. It's not as big as other rest areas, but it does the job well. The reason for stopping here was to take a restroom break and stretch the legs. There is ample space to walk around outside. Inside you will find well maintained restrooms. Everything was clean and the way it should be in there. There is a separate building for vending if you want to grab a snack or drink before hitting the road again. Like many other rest areas and welcome centers across the country, you will likely see a Blue Star Memorial Highway sign. These signs are in remembrance and tribute to the U.S. Armed Forces. They are done by the state's garden club. Overall, this was a very nice rest area, like the others I had stopped at in Tennessee. You can get out of the car for a bit, use the restroom, and relax a bit before hitting the road again. If your travels take you this way, it's worth stopping here. You never know what traffic headaches may or may not await you in Chattanooga.
