This is a great local school offering great opportunities to our local youth, Teaching them solid trade skills which enables them to land nice trade skill jobs right out of school! Not only that but they offer continued education classes for adults as well. Definitely an amazing thing to have in this small town!

The beat decision our family made was to send our daughter to Vantage. Not only does she get a head start on her career she also loves it! The staff is amazing. They truly care about each and every student. They follow them in their athletics and support and cheer them on along the way as well. I can't say enough great things about our experience. I highly recommend Vantage!

The majority of the staff here is very unprofessional. As far as having your child's future there best interest is bogus to say the least. Since when does a student that has surgery (excused absence) receive 0s for those days. When I question the teacher about her grading procedures she quit responding to my emails. So I politely left a message with coordinator Verhoff who has also chose to ignore my messages. Any questions about my child's education should never go unanswered and most certainly shouldn't be ignored.

You ever seen that show called "Bar Rescue" where this team of guys goes around to privately owned bars and teaches them how to run their business the right way? Well if there were a "School Rescue", Vantage could sure use the help. Because last I checked, Vantage was NOT a military school. First off is the head supervisor, the man who held back the majority of the senior and junior auto body class from participating in the most recent field trip to the Auburn-Cord-Duesenberg Museum. (The senior class's FINAL field trip, I might add) For having any grades at a D or lower, as well as making both my years at Vantage a living hell by scrutinizing and essentially breathing down my neck every move I, and certain other students that he deemed "troublemakers" make. Have a heart, for God's sake. Second is the discipline coordinator, whom has no sense of individuality when it comes to appropriately disciplining the students. Granted I've had some run-ins with him and my disciplinary assignments have been reasonable in those cases, but there have been many times where my meetings with him were based upon nothing more than a misunderstanding or an accident, and RARELY, if ever, am I allowed to give my side of the story and speak with the teacher/instructor involved in the situation to clear things up. It is not fair to the students as we are ALL humans and we all mess up, and there are many ways to resolve an issue besides sticking students in a confined room assigned to a cubicle and calling them a "hacker" for downloading a VPN (which I may also add, a VPN is used for protecting privacy and it's purpose is to protect AGAINST hackers). It's downright unprofessional, and really, how can you demand respect from your students when you give none in return? Third and final, there are a few teachers on the staff who are downright RUDE and disrespectful to their students. As for most, if not all Vantage staff, if you disagree with any part of what they tell you, you are wrong/unruly/disrespectful or any combination of the three. I've heard of one certain algebra teacher call their students dumbasses, retards and as the other review listed here will say, one was told that maybe they should eat a bullet. Now ask yourself, is that OKAY by any standard to essentially tell one of your students that maybe they should kill themselves? I will give the school credit for their labs and academic systems, it IS a good place to learn and I picked up quite a few useful skills in my time there. But something NEEDS to be done about the staff. I'd like to extend my thanks to the person who wrote the previous review similar to this one, for inspiring me to write this and I encourage all others to come forward with any constructive criticism they may have so that SOMETHING can be done about this. Because the way the school is currently being run, I would not recommend it to anyone considering learning a trade.

The reason I give this school two stars is because I think the labs are great, but the academics are trash. If you don't agree with something then you're out of luck. No matter how much you try and push that you are right they will shut you down. They do things how they want and don't care how you feel. They use favoritism (I've even heard a teacher yelling at a student because he brought it up and she says that they use it because they have the authority to) and then wonder why some kids act out, hate their class, and hate school in general. There is no freedom at all in this place. I'm a good kid that at least try's to get good grades but I've seen and heard kids get in trouble for some of the stupidest things I've ever heard of. Some kid got his hat taken away because he walked into the building with it on and then took it off. So he was punished for taking his hat off and they kept his hat for a whole week. Pointless, right? Some kid told a teacher that she makes him want to eat a bullet and she straight up told him "Maybe you should." Just think about that. Even if the kid is a trouble maker you shouldn't say that to anyone. Not only that but a lot of the kids that go here already don't like it. If I could already I would have transferred back to my home school but it's too late now. They'd probably try and make me take this post down saying that I'm bashing the school when I'm only giving my honest opinion. Too bad they won't know who this is. There are so many holes in this school that it looks like Swiss cheese, so if you plan on going here make sure you have a 4.0 GPA to get away with anything or you really, I mean really, like the field you're going for.
