Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Denver

I had the misfortune of staying here on July 22 2022. The trip started off poorly when the gentleman from the airport shuttle was unusually aggressive. Prior to loading I'd gently warned him that my bag was unusually heavy, to which he replied 'don't tell me how to do my job'. Great! Upon arrival the check-in was quick and easy. The room was a disaster. I know it's a 2-star hotel and expectations should be set accordingly, but the issues included: 1) The room smelled extremely strongly of perfume. The level of smell that gives you a headache and makes you think there's a smell to be hidden. 2) The bathroom sink had been blocked because someone had filled it with instant noodles. Guess housekeeping missed that one. 3) The designer of this hotel has elected to use paper for the doors. We had the luxury of hearing each and every guest check in and out overnight. 4) The florescent lights above the headboard gives off an unusually loud humming sound that makes sitting in the dark appealing. All in all, this stay was horrible, especially considering it was around $150USD for a night.

Simple airport hotel. Provided everything we needed for a good price. Shuttle took far longer than expected to pick us up so give them a call to confirm times after you arrive at the airport.

We stayed at a Microtel in Georgetown and it was very clean, friendly staff, and good breakfast. With this being said on the last night of our road trip I booked another Microtel this time in downtown Denver near the airport expecting the same cleanliness and standards of operation. Unfortunately this Microtel was poorly ran and operated. The first room we checked into the door look like it had been kicked in, the bathroom had a huge gash in the floor, wires we exposed and coming out of the wall, there was a huge red stain on the floor, cabinet doors were falling off, and there was red splatter on the wall. When the family and I went down to request another room or our money back the front office manager was very rude to my husband. While he was talking I was walking around the breakfast kitchen area to throw away a water bottle when a rat ran between my legs and another across the counter were the food would be served the next morning and were the cereal sits out nightly. I scream because I’m startled and go to tell the front desk manager. When I tell the front desk all the manager says is was it big or little and was if fast or slow? I say does it matter you have rats/mice where your food service area is. She says oh it does it lets us know if the mice have eaten the poison we put out. So at this point I know that we are for sure not eating the breakfast which is another reason we booked at this hotel. Needless to say we will never stay in a Microtel again.

We were sent to this hotel free by Delta Airlines who canceled our flight. Guess you shouldn’t complain when it’s free. But I would never stay here again due to the customer service. We were also supposed to get a free shuttle there by calling their number. We called for over an hour and no one was answering the phone. Finally obtained a taxi voucher from Delta that no taxi would take, so we were out $40 for a six mile trip. Once there, the lobby desk was empty with a few other people standing around just looking at each other. Finally a young man and woman headed from the same direction from down the hall, seating themselves behind the desk without meeting any of our eyes. What?? I checked in with the woman who still avoided me. The phone then rang. The man picked it up and said, “oh, you need a shuttle? We’ll send one right out.” I told him we had been calling that same number for over an hour with no response and had to pay $40 for a taxi there. He said, “well, we’ve been busy!” Doing what??? “Bumping uglies” in one of the empty rooms???? The communication was very strange with those two. I will give the hotel benefit for a decent night’s sleep after midnight and a warm breakfast, but otherwise will stay far away from this place, free or not.

I stayed here after flying in super late. The price was right and the pictures were pretty good. The front desk guy was very nice and friendly and was helpful, good guy! The place has an odd smell, kind of like stale cigarettes and just old. Some things are updated but it is an old hotel. My bed was clean and fairly comfortable. The flooring was super old and stained along with the chair and the window sitting area. It is pretty run down.

Very nice. Friendly staff. Clean room. I'm very sensitive to chemicals so I was grateful there was no bleach/perfume smell on the sheets. And thank goodness they don't use those automatic air fresheners in all the hallways that some hotels do! The only negative was no dark roast coffee at the breakfast bar.

The rooms were comfortable and cozy. The breakfast was good. And the staff were exceptionally hospitable, especially the young blonde lady !

We had an issue with our room being cleaned when we first got there, but the issue was quickly resolved. It’s a little further out from downtown than we thought, but it is close to a really good diner.

I called to make a reservation and when I did I was given no confirmation number or email. I had to call the next day to cancel it, per their policy I can call anytime before 6 and cancel with no charges to my credit card. I call to cancel and I was told there was no reservation under my name, I called multiple times before 6 to confirm that. I then see a charge on my card for the stay, even though there was no reservation under my name. I called every day for an entire WEEK to get this correct and every time I spoke with someone at the front desk, they told me they would look into it and get back to me. I never received any calls back. I was then directed towards a manager and was never able to get ahold of them. Every time I was told when they’d be at the property, they weren’t! I was given an email to communicate with. I sent an email explaining the situation, I was able to get this situation fixed but I still never heard back from any form of management about this. I just think it’s ridiculous that I had to call every day to get this figured out and then never heard anything back. I’ve never had such an unprofessional encounter before with a hotel.

Rooms and staff are very nice! Comfortable beds and pillows as well! Breakfast although simple was good! Would definitely stay here again!
