Very nice rest area. Plenty of parking. The only downfall is if you arrive at night they do not have signs letting you know that you have to go around to the back. The restrooms are very clean and there are plenty of stalls. They have really cool faucets that are no touch. The hand dryers are attached to each individual faucet. There are multiple places to sit inside and multiple places to sit outside in a shaded area. They have a ton of vending machines and even a lottery vending machine. They have plenty of handicap parking and signs clearly indicating where you should park, walk your dog etc. It is also very well lit in all areas.

The last time I came down this route was in 2016. At that time, the Georgia Welcome Center was closed for a full renovation, with a new building in the works and such. The next time I came through this welcome center was on August 23, 2022. Coming up to the welcome center, the road is basically a big circle around the building for car parking. They have plenty of parking spaces available, including an ample amount of handicapped parking as well. You can see the building is fairly new from the outside. The inside would be no different as well. Coming inside, the welcome center staff are to the left, and the restrooms are straight ahead in the Savannah theming of the welcome center. Restrooms were clean and well maintained. When you come inside, you are immediately immersed in the different areas of the state. Hands down, this is probably one of my favorite welcome centers now because of this. The place is beautifully themed for the different parts of the state, including trees for the Savannah Area, St. Simon's Lighthouse in the Golden Isles, and more. For the St. Simon's Lighthouse in the welcome center, you can press the button to hear the lighthouse, as well as see the Fresnel lens from the lighthouse. Be sure to walk around to the various sections, that are broken out by part of the state. It's a great quick learning experience of what Georgia has to offer. Vending items are also available here too. On the outside, there are plenty of areas to stretch your legs, move around and more. There is quite a bit of open space. There is the Blue Star Memorial sign at this welcome center as well. Overall, if your travels take you along Interstate 95 South into the state of Georgia, you definitely need to stop at this welcome center. There is too much to offer here to skip it. The experience here was excellent. I am sure yours will be too.

We could've stayed for hours. So much to see and read history of Georgia. We had so much fun there and then to run into. .Tom Hanks..with his box of chocolates..topped off the entire stop. Took a picture of my great granddaughter sitting on the bench with his life-size manacan.. don't pass this rest area without stopping in. Well worth your time.

Very clean, had physical maps available among a lot of brochures about things to do in the state. The bathroom was HUGE. The sinks for handwashing were in the middle and bathrooms were on the outside. So there were 2 LARGE rows of bathrooms on each side with sinks in the middle. It was a cool design and the sink have the soap, water, and hand dryer ALL IN ONE. It took some getting used too. It was closed when we got there so we only saw about 1/3 of the building. There were tables inside you could sit at as well as vending machines.

Awesome clean and really as nice stop ... especially if tired and need a rest.. safe' has machines inside for drinks and snacks ..only complaint was it would not take my cash and I saw a woman use her card and it showed it took it but did not give her 'her drink and snack.. so call me old school..but if it doesn't take my cash..I'll pass. Otherwise restroom was stocked ,clean and being disabled had a nice family private restroom..so much more roomy and nice to go in and out without bumping into others.. beautiful grounds as well..

So glad we stumbled upon this place. Make sure to stop here on your road trip, as it's a must see! We ended up creating an extension to our trip due to the information packets we received here! Plus, we were able to have some great photo ops inside this gorgeous facility. We also enjoyed the cleanliness of this facility! Highly recommend!
