Great rest area! Beautifully clean bathrooms. Nice playground area for kids. Several covered picnic areas. Definitely the best I've seen on my cross country travels.

What a nice and unexpected rest stop! They have a covered/shaded playground for the kids, vending machines, a VERY large family bathroom (in addition to the men/women's restroom) and what appear to be showers for truckers in the back. It is located along some train tracks and the kids enjoyed seeing the train pass by. There is a large shaded porch that wraps around the whole building and shaded picnic tables. There are informative signs about the flora and fauna in the area. We were able to see a stick bug, several types of butterflies and several pretty native plants. All in all, a welcome and fun stop for the family.

It was very nice and clean. The rest rooms were very clean. I spoke with the attendant and he was very nice and we had a good conversation about the facilities and building and photos there.

La Salle County Rest Stop is absolutely an amazing rest stop. It’s always super clean and even has a family restroom. Lots of working vending machines. Wish all rest stops were like this one.
