Super 8 by Wyndham Independence Kansas City

Absolutely the worse place. No elevators we had to carry everything up the stairs which isn’t easy with a cooler and heavy suitcase. There was smell of Marijuana and smoke in the hallways. Cops in the parking lot every night we stayed, it was very sketchy the people coming and going. The breakfast was nothing special. We did not feel safe!!!

I didn't get there until 2am or 3am and still payed full price for the room. Didn't like that but I guess no one pro rates for half a stay anymore. The room was clean and in order.......average, at best. The bathroom was average. I needed a shower which was all right. But at the moment, a garden hose left in the sun for a little bit would have been fine. It was quiet. Good for sleepin' . Especially when you just can't go no more. Stop and take a nap and a shower. May save your life.

Everything in room seemed new. They have been and are presently remodeling and upgrading and improving. Everything seemed clean. Beds and pillows were comfy. Hot water and cold a/c. There are no smoking rooms. Supposedly the entire building is non- smoking, so frustrating that the side door was out of order as it would let you out but not back in. Always had to go through front desk to enter and reenter building.

If I could give zero stars, I would. We rented two rooms, one for my son and girlfriend who were on the ground floor backside of the hotel. Their room was broken into while we were at dinner and a show that night. They came through the window at ground level and stole everything. Police were contacted and report filed. Police told us this was a terrible neighborhood with lots of crime. Hotel management did nothing to help, we were told they are not liable. We left in the middle of the night with what was left and will never return.

Stayed here for convenience of price but felt with $126 and a $100 deposit it was not even close to worth that. The front desk employee was not friendly and appeared to be annoyed at helping. Toilet wouldn’t flush, had to ask for a plunger. Still had trouble with it flushing. The water never got hot and after one shower the next shower was ice cold. Went to use the sink faucet to brush teeth and didn’t have any cold water only warm. Just overall not happy with the quality with what we had to pay.

Quiet restful hotel. Decent price. No elevator, so if you can't climb stairs call ahead and ask if they have accomodations for same floor as the entrance.

Don’t stay here. Don’t even step foot inside the front person will be very rude to you. Stayed here on the way home from a thanksgiving trip and got up charged $300 for having more than one person in the room with two beds. Which means whoever runs this hotel is stingy. Also the room was garbage and smelled like garbage. What is up with the tiny pillows?

WARNING: DO NOT STAY HERE!!! I booked a room here on Priceline last minute because I was traveling from Colorado to St. Louis and the weather got bad so I decided to stay overnight here and finish my drive the following morning. for $59 and a 4 star rating, I had high hopes. Check in was simple but the woman at the front desk had headphones in and didn’t talk very loud. That’s whatever. My problem was once I got into my room it smelled like wet dog. the entire hallway did. then I noticed a bug on the ceiling. stains on the covers. and the bathtub was atrocious. I usually don’t complain but there was no way I could stay in that room. I went to the front desk and asked if she could switch me or give me a refund if there were no more available rooms. she said “you have to get the refund through priceline and that takes hours. I already upgraded your room to a king because we didn’t have any queens available. i’ll see if I can find a new room” first things first, I never asked for my room to be upgraded. I called the hotel before booking to verify the room was available and was told yes so I booked it. but I never asked to be upgraded. she then gets me into a new room. great! I walk in and it absolutely reeks like smoke. I had to call priceline for a refund because at that point I wanted to leave. I went to the front desk to let her know priceline would be calling her but she was already on the phone with them. she was talking under her breath to me (with her headphones still in) and I had to ask multiple times for her to repeat herself. finally she said “they have to call and talk to the manager in the morning you can leave now though” so I did just that. then this morning i get an email saying I WONT be getting a refund. the money aspect sucks yes but my main issue was the customer service I received last night. last time I checked your employees don’t keep your business running. your customers do. and this is how you allow your customers to be treated? I think not.

Not handicap accessible at all. Rooms are so small, bathroom not clean, breakfast was not biscuits could have been used as hockey pucks, gravy was cold. Luckily Quick Trip breakfast didn’t disappoint. Spend a little more and stay someplace your 13 year old doesn’t describe as sketchy.

Nice room layout, recently remodeled. Very clean. Comfortable beds. Breakfast was ok, mostly sweets, but the waffles were good.
