I should have done this review a while ago. Last year I went to Begley's on Manatee at 34th St because I was hearing a strange noise coming from the underside of my vehicle that I couldn't quite place, but I thought it might be transmission related. Begley charged me $125 to tell me I needed a new drive shaft, which would cost an additional $600 for a re-built shaft. I went home and got thinking that my drive shaft was not a horribly hard replacement job, apart from the fun of replacing the u-joints. While looking for a shaft, I came across FleetPride's site which said they did drive shaft build work. I took it in and Danny replaced the u-joints for $45, saying that there was nothing wrong with the shaft. I re-installed it on the car, then kept hearing the same noise. I took it back to Begley's who still said the shaft was out of balance - again charging me $125. I went back to see Danny, who checked it and balanced it again, charged me nothing, and said it was fine. I didn't know who to believe so I went to a transmission shop. It turned out that the problem was with the differential. Anyway, I can't say enough about how excellent it was to deal with Danny and the people in the front office at FleetPride. They didn't talk down to me for being a woman, for one thing, which seems to be the norm around here, they didn't overcharge and they helped me out for free. Recommend.
