Framingham Service Plaza Westbound

On a scale of terrible to amazing, this service plaza gets a meh… I’ve traveled the pike for years and made stops here and eastbound countless times. One thing that’s always held true about this place is the look. Nothing has changed in 20+ years and it shows. Modern rest/service areas have been popping up in the region (CT in particular) for the last decade, and these look and feel like they just flew out of the 70s. That’s not to say it’s run down, it’s actually decently well maintained appearance wise, but it just doesn’t inspire confidence in the experience. It feels old, and with that feeling come some quick judgements. The bathrooms, to start, have always smelled as they currently do: questionable. While they reek of the over-potent commercial air freshener found in every highly trafficked bathroom across the country, there’s always this underlying musty funk in the air. The stalls are usually pretty clean in the men’s room, though I’m never the first to risk it, and the urinals are usually fine, though it’s not entirely uncommon to find a puddle at the majority of them (is it really that hard to aim?). Sinks are often a disaster though. Water everywhere, sinks and soap dispensers not working… kinda gross to that end. Also there always seems to be someone just standing around in here. Kinda creepy at times. Food options are alright. McDonalds is a staple, though wait times are usually pretty ridiculous. Boston Market is/was good. Though I’m not entirely sure who’s stopping into a highway Boston Market for a chicken or meatloaf dinner, besides maybe someone overnighting there. Just sounds like a recipe for the chain’s initials to make an appearance once you hit the Ludlow plaza. Convenience store attached is as one would expect. It’s overpriced, straight out of the 90s/early 2000s, and just a little sketchy. While it’s generally not too hard to find what you want or need, it’s definitely a task to find the will to pull the extortionate amount of money out of your pocket required to pay for it. I will say though, there usually are drink specials in the coolers, so if you plan accordingly and maybe make a little compromise on what you’re getting it can be on the more affordable side of an expensive stop. Just don’t grab too much in the snack or commodity goods aisles because that’ll add up faster than the Toyota in the third lane that passed you five miles back. Like I said, it’s not amazing, it’s not the most current in design or food options, the bathrooms are a little sketchy, the parking lot is a little sketchy too, and the convenience store is only convenient in what it provides, not how much it costs, but it does serve its purpose for the most part. It may not be glamorous, but if you need to make a stop, this service plaza will be fine, but not anything to snap a picture of and send to anyone… Unless you’re posing with the Ronald McDonald statue on the bench, that should be sent out in your Christmas cards…

Bathrooms are quite clean, much appreciated there. Some more options for food would nice, though.

The bathroom is always clean. And you can go in, no questions asked. I wish there were more food options at this place but I guess you can get some snacks and put gas in your car. Convenient but expensive gasoline and everything sold here in general.

The womens' restroom was filthy, with lots of stalls closed for maintenance. The convenience store's bottled drinks are overpriced and I was overcharged on my credit card receipt. There was only one fast food option (McDonald's) open at 10:15 on a Saturday night - and the line was very long.

It's clean stores are closed bathroom is questionable with cleanliness I've seen people walk in and out of stalls but I didn't go in there to look. Best suggestion go to the last Stalls. Stop making drive-thru only Starbucks.

Needed to use restroom. Unfortunately, the stalls were pretty dirty, no toilet paper in 3 outta 5 of the stalls, toilets didn't flush automatically. Had push button. Several stalls had caution tape upon them. Water to wash hands was pretty hot. No paper towels had to use blow dryer and move hands 4 times to get hands dry.

Massachusetts keeps their highway rest areas clean and definitely makes you feel welcome. 🛑 Get a bite to eat ,grab a 🥤, ☕ or sandwich 🥪. Enjoy

What a relief to have these plazas to stop at. This was clean, pleasant and, I even bought some presents from vendors

One of the more upkept and clean stops. Restrooms are large with lots of stalls as it does get busy and there's always someone in there stocking and cleaning. Mini stop to get what you need and a few different fast food vendors.

If your traveling you will likely need to stop at this rest area. It has every amenity one could expect including many food options as well as a mini mart and huge bathrooms so you'll never have to wait in line to use the restroom. Also, the keep the restrooms impeccably clean. Every time I've stopped here there just happens to be a cleaning lady in there cleaning up, which I love as I'm a wicked germaphobe 😉😁

Nice place to stop for gas and food. Totally over priced but the convenience of it being on the highway is so worth it. Also, there are 2 others a little farther down which are the same thing. But for a quick pee break it's not usually busy. I stop all the time while on the road.

Really nice and clean area to just stop and take a minute. The McDonald's here has really solid sandwiches. And the Boston Market bowls are amazing
