Show On The Map

The Dcontrol Service Area Plaza directory can be very useful for travelers to plan their trip, save time and find the services they need while traveling.

A Service Area Plaza (SAP), also known as a rest area or service plaza, is a facility located along highways or major roads that provides a variety of services to motorists. These plazas typically offer a range of amenities such as fuel stations, convenience stores, restrooms, restaurants, and parking areas.

Service Area Plazas are designed to provide a convenient and safe place for motorists to take a break from driving, refuel their vehicles, and refresh themselves before continuing their journey. These facilities are strategically located along highways to ensure that motorists have access to essential services and amenities throughout their journey.

Service Area Plazas are often managed by private companies or government agencies, such as state departments of transportation, and are typically open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. These facilities play an important role in ensuring the safety and well-being of motorists, as well as supporting local economies by providing employment opportunities and generating revenue for nearby businesses.

It's one of the smaller service areas on the NJ Turnpike, just before Exit 12. It's neat and clean, bathrooms are also well maintained. There's a Popeye, Nathan’s, Starbucks and a convenience store inside the building. Relatively this is less crowded rest stop.

Great people in the convenience store. I stop here everyday for breakfast. The breakfast sandwiches and ice coffee are great and much cheaper then McDonald’s

Clean place with a few options to choose from as far as food. The Starbucks is amazing. I can never get a cappuccino made right. They always make it like a latte. I had one from here and it was perfect! So I went back and got another. A different barista made it this time. And it was just as perfect. Made my day.

The problem with this "Service / Rest Area" is not that there isn't enough truck or bus parking. The problem is, THERE IS ABSOLUTELY ZERO PARKING SPOTS FOR TRUCKS AND BUSES. They have a sign at the entrance directing where to go, then there is no parking, just signs that say "No Parking Anytime. Driving a Truck or a Bus, plan ahead and don't stop here. Otherwise, the inside is probably one of the cleanest places I have stopped at on the Interstates.

Really great place to take a break from the road. Parking lot was safe large and well lit. Bathrooms were clean, there is a good family bathroom. My kids loved the Frog waste cans outside. I was not expecting a Carlo's Bakery vending machine.

Not bland I can for sure say there us plenty of not bland food. And there was no Ford service, I dont have a ford but if I did and wanted service this place's name is kinda misleading. Y'all should talk about that.

NJ turnpike rest areas are nice! It’s clean all the time! 5-6 food stores, 1-2 drink stores. Plus Alltown convenient is 24/7!

Most of the service areas that I visit in my travels are clean and a decent respite from a long drive somewhere. This was markedly different. It was filthy. The bathrooms had many toilets that were backed up, the floors were wet and dirty, garbages overflowing, and even my son (who notices very little) commented on how dirty it was! The STARBUCKS - the staff weren't friendly, as is the typical Starbucks standard. The person who made my drink used a dirty cloth to wipe the lid on my cup, rather than giving me a clean lid. We tossed our drinks, used a lot of hand sanitizer and won't stop there again!

On a scale of terrible to amazing, this service plaza gets a meh… I’ve traveled the pike for years and made stops here and eastbound countless times. One thing that’s always held true about this place is the look. Nothing has changed in 20+ years and it shows. Modern rest/service areas have been popping up in the region (CT in particular) for the last decade, and these look and feel like they just flew out of the 70s. That’s not to say it’s run down, it’s actually decently well maintained appearance wise, but it just doesn’t inspire confidence in the experience. It feels old, and with that feeling come some quick judgements. The bathrooms, to start, have always smelled as they currently do: questionable. While they reek of the over-potent commercial air freshener found in every highly trafficked bathroom across the country, there’s always this underlying musty funk in the air. The stalls are usually pretty clean in the men’s room, though I’m never the first to risk it, and the urinals are usually fine, though it’s not entirely uncommon to find a puddle at the majority of them (is it really that hard to aim?). Sinks are often a disaster though. Water everywhere, sinks and soap dispensers not working… kinda gross to that end. Also there always seems to be someone just standing around in here. Kinda creepy at times. Food options are alright. McDonalds is a staple, though wait times are usually pretty ridiculous. Boston Market is/was good. Though I’m not entirely sure who’s stopping into a highway Boston Market for a chicken or meatloaf dinner, besides maybe someone overnighting there. Just sounds like a recipe for the chain’s initials to make an appearance once you hit the Ludlow plaza. Convenience store attached is as one would expect. It’s overpriced, straight out of the 90s/early 2000s, and just a little sketchy. While it’s generally not too hard to find what you want or need, it’s definitely a task to find the will to pull the extortionate amount of money out of your pocket required to pay for it. I will say though, there usually are drink specials in the coolers, so if you plan accordingly and maybe make a little compromise on what you’re getting it can be on the more affordable side of an expensive stop. Just don’t grab too much in the snack or commodity goods aisles because that’ll add up faster than the Toyota in the third lane that passed you five miles back. Like I said, it’s not amazing, it’s not the most current in design or food options, the bathrooms are a little sketchy, the parking lot is a little sketchy too, and the convenience store is only convenient in what it provides, not how much it costs, but it does serve its purpose for the most part. It may not be glamorous, but if you need to make a stop, this service plaza will be fine, but not anything to snap a picture of and send to anyone… Unless you’re posing with the Ronald McDonald statue on the bench, that should be sent out in your Christmas cards…

I simply love that this location has a VERY SMALL rmv location on site. That you can do simple things like pay a fast lane or easy pass. And other simple and similar tasks. Sometimes there is a short line but I'm almost always in and out within 20 or 30 minutes. There is also a McDonald's and a few other small food spots. As well as a typical well stocked gas station and plenty of pumps .

Gas station attendant is rude. Second time in 2022 that I've been to this gas station and the attendant is always rude. Despite the signs saying you can use any lane regardless of what side the tank is on, they give you a problem about what pump you use. And he is condescending about it

Not the best rest area on the Mass pike. Only “restaurant” available is mcdonalds, bathrooms are way small than all the others rest areas I tried. The store is standard, the coffee grinder is neat since you get fresh coffee. Parking is ok. Just a corridor where you can sit indoor

Good place to take a break from the road. I would recommend they put some tables or benches there. They have fast food places that are overpriced to take advantage of people traveling. I would recommend just stopping at a regular resturant off the path then paying 10 dollars for a double whopper hamburger. At least you can get some gas if it's not blocked off. It's okay

Restrooms were great. Food options and customer service however were awful. Popeyes only offered family dinner meals which aren’t practical for travelers. The nuggets were out. And then Nathan’s had possibly the worlds slowest line food prep Ive ever experienced. And I’ve worked in fast food myself. Unacceptable. 20 minute wait for two burgers. Better staff training and if an employee is that slow, they cannot handle the fast pace of a rest area where travelers come for a quick stop on an already long drive. Never again will we stop here on our trips north.

Trucker Life! Came in around 10am and inside is not busy. There are plenty parking for semis and 4 wheelers. There's also charging stations for EVs. Huge restrooms with plenty toilet stalls and an attendant keeping it clean. There are places to buy food, snacks, coffee, souvenirs and a little convenience store. Gas station and light maintenance (oil change, etc) shop is outside.

The parking lot clean. And very clean inside. Bathroom was also clean. There were plenty of snacks and drinks to choose from. We tried shake shack. I had the chicken sandwich. Was delicious. The staff very friendly. Happy with my experience.
