Amazon Fulfillment Center - BHM1

So here’s the deal I drove here for orientation or whatever they wanna call it and when I got to the door one of their employees opened it and was like, “You got a appointment” and I was like yeah and they let me in. Once inside I was looking around at the employees and how they interacted with one another and after about 10 minutes I walked right out man. Advice for you guys and I know you don’t care but you guys should really be careful who you put on the front lines representing your company man … I’m not saying you gotta be all fake and smile and all that but come one now … At least be a little cheerful when you greeting potential employees. Your loss bro … I can out pick everyone in that building … I was literally going to be the absolute best person you ever hired

People have a bad attitude. There are few and far behind that are actually happy to been there Plus the you are treated like a number unless you are a favorite .

It use to be fun working Bham1 warehouse, but now its a different situation the management who is running the operation worked you out like robots. 11 hrs a night for 5 days is too much and they expect productivity. There’s a reason why we chose RT shift reduced time! Why you guys put 2 nights mandatory every week? We are all tired. People now that working here are waiting for smuckers to be open and talking of transferring including myself.

Always quick and easy everyone I go in there to get my loads. The staff are always friendly and courteous.

Jakeemah Hasan came to our property and she was really great she took her time in putting the packages into the lockers. I wish we could use her permanently at our property site. Thank you Jakeemah!

I have worked here for almost 2 months now. The hiring process was easy and training was fun. In just a month I went from a seasonal white badge to a blue badge which is a permanent employee with additional benefits… it is a pleasure working for Amazon in Bessmer alabama… I will forever retire with them.

I work here. I really enjoy it. Some nights seem to be much longer than others, even though it's the same 12 hours no matter how you look at it.

Nice place it's really big you have to walk everywhere and it's a lot of walking. Good place to work

Worked here for a day maybe two.. sucked... training was horrible... the ambassadors or whatever they supposed to be is horrific.... no wander people cry before going in there... lucky for me I can take my experience and skills somewhere fitting...

I don’t know why they forced their employees to work 55 hours a week now. Is that legal Amazon? Where was the sugar coated word during union elections?

Good pay, excellent benefits and exceptional staff, managers and employees. The only issues I've run into are the expected amount of grueling work and long hours, and the HR isn't the best. Overall, it's a good job and great environment.

No one that I've dropped there for work likes working there. Stories I hear suggest that there is poor mamdement of human resources, poor leadership and questionable working conditions at get by pay. I've never heard good things about working at Amazon.

I have been working here for 2 years and I love my job! You might not like some rules they put in place for a reason but all in all if you do your job right than you would be fine. You also have the opportunity to learn different departments and so far with the 2 years I have been here I have already been train in 6 departments and I still have alittle more I want to learn but I can always swap to each department to do and the stairs are hell but you just do what you gots to do!

I have been here numerous times and I must say I have never had a problem. Check in is fast, easy and the yard is, as many Amazon locations, spacious. As far as my experience with the employees, they have always been helpful so no complaints here either.

Amazon is a cool place to focus on staying productive and getting money. 3 years you can be at $20 as long as you don't quit or get fired. It has some annoying protocols but just do your best and you should be fine

This place is running without a good management 80% of the H.R employees are unprofessional. And it’s like they never had a job before no experience whatsoever. If you take a 30 minute break in the parking lot most likely you are going to get high. So many weed smokers. One positive thing is less crimes in the city of Bessemer and the surrounding areas. This company can do way better with less cost and labor. But that’s what happened when you hire uneducated, unprofessional, employees that have no experience at all with management positions. Rude H.R and rude management and training team. It’s a shame that you get to have a chance at this place with such a manners.

The one good thing about this place was the wide parking slots...OTHER THAN THAT THEY NEED TO GET THEIR $%#! TOGETHER! I pulled in (slightly out of the road due to the extremely long line stretching back down to the street) waited for 30 minutes to get to the check-in window which is only one lane, only to be greeted by the most incompetent check-in lady in all the LAND! Hooked to the load and now back to the check-out process ...SMH. The paperwork wasn't ready printer down. So I can't get a BOL.SAME MISS INCOMPETENTTOOK 15 MINUTES to get to that point. Finally received a seal went to put it on .Got back in the truck and asked for the load weight and such to put in the tablet...WHAT DID I DO THAT FOR? SHE BLEW ON ME SAYING SHE DIDN'T HAVE ANY OF THAT,AND THAT I HAD GOTTEN ALL THAT I WAS GOING TO GET AND THAT I NEEDED TO HURRY UP AND GET OUT OF THE WAY BECAUSE I YES I WAS HOLDING UP HER LINE.LOL

Great place to work! You just gotta do your work and you will be fine!

I love working at Amazon. Never has it been so easy to go to work and do your job. Leave if you want and take your time off when you want. Stay away from the drama and just do your job! SAY NO TO THE UNION!! THEY WANT TO TAKE YOUR MONEY JUST LIKE OUR GOVERNMENT!

I pay $150 for prime. I know 2 day shipping is a privilege not a right. But I’ve never had a problem with any other seller/Amazon branch in the country except this one. When I see a package is being sent out from this facility I know it’s going to be late. I was informed today from customer service that this was due to my distance from the facility. I kindly informed the woman helping me that was funny, since I get packages from the other side of the country to my front door in 2-3 days every time, without fail. Yet Bessemer is an hour and a half drive from me and it take me 1-2 weeks to get my “prime” insured packages. Absolutely laughable at this point. Assuming this is in part to blame for the failed union attempt. Problem a bunch a whiny employees there not wanting to work :,((( so sad. What a joke

Great place to work!! I enjoy going to work every day and I have moved up and I will keep climbing and moving up with the company! I have several certifications now and growing as many skills as possible! The experience has been very pleasant!

I had a package that was supposed to be delivered to me from this facility by the 4/30/21 and the package apparently never even made it to the USPS distribution center. I called Amazon and the USPS and I was told the problem was most likely with the third party shipping service that this Amazon warehouse uses. The shipping label and tracking number was created but has not updated since 4/29/21. No one wants to take responsibility for my package being lost.

Was at the facility recently as a potential candidate for a part-time position. It was really disturbing and disheartening that two of ladies behind the glass partition wall was essentially not so nice. It does not cost anything for anyone to be nice. It is in my humble opinion that if you are in a position that requires you to interact with people, professionalism should be exhibited. Covid-19 should have taught us all to not take anything for granted. In my journey to become a small business owner I set out to start working at Amazon part-time as I currently have a full-time job that pays well.In my pursuit of doing so I would always be nice to everyone whether I'm in an entry level position or sitting behind a desk. I hope that someone in upper management would read this and have this conversation. Thanks to the young lady who I did talk to for exhibiting a level of professionalism. I have held many positions at other places of employment, from the janitor to the Lead HR representative I interact with are all treated with a level of great respect. It is not Amazon the company who I am giving a bad review, it is the employees chosen, to represent the company.

I love working here Amazon really takes care of their employees.

Unorganized. Management and PA have horrible communication skills. Needs to be addressed ASAP.

I wish someone would teach these employees how to drive. They all drive like maniacs in the morning and on lunch. I work close to this center and it was never like this until amazon was built.
